The Camera I chose was rated very well in several photo publications, and had the main features I felt I needed to be happy: 1- image stabilization (kids move fast) 2- quick recovery between pictures 3- video with zoom :) I now have a Cannon Powershot SD 870 IS and I am very happy. One of the bonuses is the screen is 3" so it is easier to see the shot and it has built in red eye correction in the camera in case I opted to print directly from the camera. It also has face detection, but I have had a little problem with it when there are a lot of other kids around. So you can be judge of the finished products - here are two shots taken under roughly the same conditions of Anna on the couch - the one with the hat is with the Casio and the one in the red shirt is the "new toy"

The "real" test will be tomorrow at the HS Half time show performance when I will be taking both pictures and video of Anna
