Why I should learn to listen to Friends and Family
OK, I can admit it - I have a stubborn streak about some things... and now it has snuck up and bitten me! For literally "years" my friends and cousin kept telling me that the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean" was good and I should watch it... but I stubbornly did not, stating that I don't like pirate movies and it looked weird. It was even lent to me 2x, and I didn't watch it. Well, after Anna asked to watch it, I gave in, and she and I watched the first one (She wanted more action, less talking)....and I liked it! So then the 2nd is now running all the time on cable and over the course of a week, I think I have seen all of it (I might have missed a scene or two - but I got the plot) and while I feel it is too scary for Anna (I found the pirates on the Lost Dutchman creepy to the point of gross) I liked it too! So now, here I sit typing annoyed at myself because the 3rd one is already out of the theaters and isn't coming out on DVD until December. If I had just listened to one of the many people telling me I would like it... I would have gone and seen the 3rd one and know what happens!!!! BTW do not take this to mean I want to know the ending, after the whole HP thing, you all know how much I hate spoilers. I think I'm just going to pout some more :(

If it makes you feel any better... 1) I told you so! and 2) I saw Pirates 1 and 2 on opening day, but somehow in the midst of my move missed seeing 3 in theaters entirely! So, you and I are "in the same boat" so to speak! I was REALLY bummed about missing it, but, here I am, waiting for the DVD. At least my cousin has a 13' projection screen I'll be able to watch it on (which is just 2' smaller than the theaters here in rural WY!)
Suzy :D
