Recently, I have discovered that I use the term" funny" to describe a lot of things, and this week has been particularly "funny", so I thought I would share so you too can have a laugh!
"Funny" Math - Not too long ago, L and I got a good laugh at a math equation in a post that was quite off, and L used the term "Funny math" to describe it... well I heard one to top it! While at Wal-Mart, the lady in front of me with her 4 kids was arguing with the clerk, and this is how the discussion went:
Clerk - "mam, your debit transaction has been declined, do you have a different type of payment?"
Lady - "my account is fine, your machine is wrong, run it again"
They re-run the card, same result
Clerk - "mam, I'm sorry it has been declined"
Lady - "look, I checked the account this morning and there was like 120 dollars in there. We only spent about 50 at Best buy and this only cost 75, so there is more than enough money in the account - what is your problem??"
Now as someone who use to overdraw her account when I was in college, I understand how it can happen, but it what I found amusing was the comment on "more than enough".... I did actually feel bad for her since she and her kids had already each drank a drink, and the kids had torn into the box of cupcakes so the manager looked none too happy walking over....
"Funny Time" - I have come to the realization that my hubby has no concept of "real time" - he will call saying he will be home in 10 min as he is leaving work, which is impossible, he will say he needs 30 min to mow the lawn, and it always takes an hour. The really funny thing about this, is he has no idea he does it. I have tried pointing out some of these, and he always seems surprised. My new favorite one is "give me 5 min to check "X"on the computer" as I am about to start getting ready for bed, which actually means I have 30 mins of reading time!!!
"Funny Mommy" Recently a new gymnastics school opened up near by, and Anna enjoyed her free trial class. her favorite part was the foam pit (I know the pic is dark, but I was up on the observation deck - the little thing in the pit is A)I had a chance to take P for a free trial as well this week, and he loved all the bouncing and flipping as well as the foam pit. Then he got it in his head that he could go across the whole pit like the 3 yr olds - now the pit is probably 20 feet square.... and he got to the dead center, and then he panicked... so into the pit goes mom. There are 3 issues with this - 1 - I can't reach the bottom, so I too have to use the crawl method - 2 - I have to crawl back holding P who is really wiggly and 3 - the only way out is to use your arms and pull yourself out (like from a pool). Lets just say most of the other adults were having a hard time not laughing as I very ungracefully hoisted myself out of the foam, only to have P turn around and jump right back in!
"Funny Kids" Yesterday the kids and I went over to P and Little H's for some swimming and Pizza. After Dinner, the girls treated us to a "recital" and were dancing around the living room. P opted that this looked like fun and joined in. Things were going great until P realized that when A got down and ready to do a forward roll, her booty made a great target for kicking! He did this 2xs and I had a hard time trying to be serious and discipline him when it was so funny. It got better when he got out of timeout, walked up behind her and really "thought" about doing it again - you could almost see the smoke coming out of his ears as he debated kicking her!! He was good, and did not do it, but the look was priceless!!!
So that is my tribute to all things "Funny"!!! Feel free to add on to the theme!!
