Looking back over the last few days, I have found a common thread of "Beginnings and Endings" .
First there was the celebrating of the "beginning" of our country with a 4th of July party. It was a nice little get-together at a dance friend's house with 4 families (all the girls were in LB last year together, this year they are divided between LB and SO, but they still all play really well together, and the moms LOVE hanging together) They had a huge water slide and trampoline which was enjoyed by the kids AND some of the adults. We then went and watched the fireworks from our favorite parking lot.

Saturday was T's BDay (the beginning of another year), so all the Moms from the party the night before, and B went out for some Greek Food. We told the Manager that it was her BDay so we got a free round of shots. Our DD gave her's to T, and I couldn't leave T hanging with a shot by herself, so I ordered another one - yeah it showed up as a triple.... needless to say, I was feeling no pain when I got home!!!! I think it is time to start hosting "Mom-tini nights" again as we hand so much fun just hanging together.
Sunday, however, was a hard day as it would be the last time I got to see my Grandpa Don. We knew the end was near, and he was unable to speak when I got there, but he did hold my hand. He passed away Monday morning peacefully in his sleep. The family is opting to wait until Thanksgiving for any type of service. We are looking at having a full Marine Honor Guard which would be very fitting given I don't remember a time when the US or Marine flag was not flying over his home.
Sunday also marked the newest addition to our household! A has been wanting a pet of her own for a while. We tried a kitten, but it was too much for her's and my allergies. We had looked at getting a hamster, but they are not good for little ones, so we got a guinea pig. They like to be cuddled and are more sturdy. This is Jacob and he lives in the basement with my sewing stuff. I have come to except that he is mine to take care of, and the kids play with him. I guess its the way being a mom is :)

So here's to beginnings and endings, all just a part of life!!!
